Solon on Deck!

Meet Elisha Neale from The Cuddly Porcupine...

My name is Elisha Neale, and my business is The Cuddly Porcupine. I am 37 years old and a stay-at-home mother to a three-year-old daughter. I grew up in a small Texas town and moved to Canton South, Ohio, after marrying my husband. I began painting seriously while working at Home Depot, where I started by decorating aprons for my colleagues.
I have been drawing my entire life, but I began painting and creating professionally about seven years ago. Throughout my artistic journey art has served as an emotional outlet for me. It is a calming process that allows me to express and release emotions that can be difficult to communicate otherwise. Creativity has always been a part of who I am. My mother is also a painter, so I believe it is something I inherited. This event is especially exciting as this will be my very first Avant-Garde Art & Craft Show!
I discovered my talent for painting when I was asked to decorate aprons at Home Depot. I started with simple drawings and eventually moved into using puff paint, which evolved into the work I create today. My creative process start with jotting down ideas as they come to me randomly. When I have time to paint, I choose the idea I am most excited about, put on some music, and immerse myself in the work. I like to think of myself as the "Willy Wonka of art." My ideas are original, and the core message is to always find a way to include joy in your life.
While looking into the future of this business, while I would love to become a full-time artist, I recognize the challenges involved. Regardless of the scale of my business, I know that I will always be creating. The photos included represent a progression of my work throughout the years.

Meet Sandra Moore from Moore Moments...

My name is Sandra Moore, and I am the owner of Moore Moments, a mobile catering cart business that specializes in mini cakes, charcuterie trays, and interactive food experiences. I’m passionate about creating beautiful, memorable moments through food. I’ve always had a love for organizing, presentation, and bringing people together—so this business is a true reflection of who I am.

Moore Moments has been in business for about five months. Although it’s still new, it’s something I’ve poured my heart into from day one. I was inspired by the joy that food brings to people. There’s something special about watching someone experience happiness through something you created. I also draw inspiration from life experiences—especially overcoming challenges and turning them into something beautiful.

My love for food, creativity, and presentation naturally led me here. I’ve always enjoyed putting things together in a thoughtful and visually appealing way, and that passion evolved into creating edible experiences for others. I discovered my talent during a difficult time in my life. After losing my job in October 2025, I had to reflect on what truly made me happy. Even during that season, I found comfort in creating and sharing food. That’s when I realized this wasn’t just something I enjoyed—it was something I was naturally good at.

My creative process starts with the experience I want to create for others. I focus on presentation, balance, and detail—making sure every tray or mini cake feels special and thoughtfully curated. I like to combine visual beauty with flavor so that every piece not only looks good but tastes amazing too. The message behind my work is that even in life’s hardest moments, something beautiful can be created. Moore Moments is about joy, connection, and turning simple experiences into lasting memories through food.

This will be my very first event. I am excited for the opportunity to participate and grow with events like the Avant-Garde Art & Craft Shows. I look forward to being part of many in the future and sharing my work with a wider audience.

In five years, I see Moore Moments expanding into Phase II, which I’m incredibly excited about. While I’m keeping the details a surprise for now, I plan to grow into a larger, more established brand known for unique and elevated catering experiences.

Meet Srinya Baker from AWESOMEROSE'...

My name is Srinya Baker, I am creator and make of my products. I have been making bags since 2018. I started from small stuffs and made bags as hobby to give away until someone told me to sell them. That what I started AWESOMEROSE'

What got my into the hobby was when I had free time when my kid started preschool. I discovered my talent because, since childhood, I have always liked to create things. And then, through youtube I was able to learn how to sew.
My creative process starts from design, then I draw pattern, select material, cut fabric follow pattern and sew together. Every bag I make is a reflection of my personality, I try to create practical bags that everyone can use daily.

This is an exciting event because, it is my 1st time participating in either an Avant-Garde or Solon show.

I am currently unsure of the future of my business, but I will try to expand as much as I can.
